About
Chanelle Doctor
M.Ed, BCBA, LBA, RDT

Chanelle Doctor is a highly experienced, double board-certified clinician. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, Registered Drama Therapist (board-certified by the North American Drama Therapy Association) and Certified Functional Medicine and Trauma Specialist (Arizona Trauma Institute) with over 18 years of experience at the intersection of behavioral science and expressive therapies.

She holds a BA in Theatre Performance from Longwood University, an M.Ed in Special Education from Cambridge College, and has pursued further advanced graduate level specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Psychodrama/Drama Therapy at Lesley University and Applied Behavior Analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology.  Ms. Doctor integrates behavioral science with expressive therapies to provide a unique, multi-dimensional approach to clinical intervention.

She is a Licensed Behavior Analyst and Licensed Special Education Specialist (K-12) with experience across Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. Ms. Doctor's current clinical practice within the education setting focuses on clinical instructional design, behavioral pedagogy, and consultation. Her extensive clinical history includes specialized, high-acuity intervention utilizing applied behavior analysis, clinical behavior analysis, and drama therapy with neurodivergent populations, as well as those navigating intellectual and developmental disabilities, severe psychiatric disorders, and forensic populations. This includes experience addressing feeding and eating disorders for individuals with autism and mental health conditions.

Chanelle is dedicated to a holistic, multidisciplinary model of care. She is currently expanding her clinical scope through Hill College, training to become a Board Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Clinical Herbalist, and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. This integration of data-driven behavioral science, trauma-informed expressive therapy, and functional wellness allows Chanelle to offer truly comprehensive, rehabilitative support for her clients.

Experience

Throughout her career—spanning Virginia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, and telehealth (across states)—Ms. Doctor has practiced Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) across educational, clinical, and home-based settings. While her experience in Boston focused heavily on high-acuity care, she has specialized in treating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), neurodevelopmental profiles, and diverse mental health challenges—including mood disorders, personality disorders, and PTSD—across all regions of her practice. While in North Carolina, she pioneered support for individuals with ASD in rural communities and provided specialized care for Marines and their families navigating PTSD and TBI. This work was highlighted by her collaboration with the NEA’s Creative Forces: Military Healing Arts Network, where she offered drama therapy and Playback Theatre workshops for service members. Currently based back in her hometown in Virginia, Ms. Doctor provides integrative and behavioral healthcare for both neurodivergent and neurotypical populations, as well as a wide range of multimorbidity cases.
